AIBU to be worried about this? (health anxiety trigger warning: colonoscopy)

My mum is having a Colonoscopy tomorrow and I'm panicking that she might have bowel cancer. My maternal grandpa passed away from stomach cancer in his 60s, she is a similar age and apparently there might be a common genetic component to stomach and bowel cancer.

AIBU to be concerned? Has anyone been through similar recently? I just need to distract myself I think! Thanks!

My mum had one a year back. It was just polyps, they are very common. Try not to worry Flowers

Thanks so much for replying. That's great that your Mum's went okay- mine did too- it's just diverticulitis- I'm so relieved!
