Hi there

As the title says, I'm 37 with bmi of a little over 30. I've just been offered a last minute vaccine appointment. Is this right?

GP won't discuss vaccination with patients.

Do I go for it? I answered all their questions and thought I would get an appointment for July or something, but it came up for tomorrow!

I very foolishly mentioned it to another school mum today and she looked Hmm.

Just book it, don’t challenge it.

Thanks, that's what I'll do I think.

It is weird, but maybe the whole ramping up this week? A friend had hers today too (older) and she said the centre was full of younger looking people. So I'm guessing they have had cancellations or something.

I got a text through telling me to book an appointment. Was surprised as i am 30, not sure of bmi but in the low overweight, high end of normal area. No health issues.

Phoned my gp who confirmed that i was in group 6, but couldnt tell me why, just that those classes were decided centrally and that if i was in that group i should book a vaccine. I did mention that i had no idea why i was elligble, and she didnt seem that bothered and told me that if was invited to a vaccine i was entitled to book an appointment.

So i booked it 🤷🏽

I feel a bit guilty about it as i still think im jumping the queue due to an error on my record, but i tried to rectify, and no one seemed that bothered!

As i travel to multiple sites for work and cant work from home, i didnt want to turn down the chance to get it.

Oh weird. Ours wouldn't even discuss! Just said do what the text said, which I did.

DH and I both got texts from our GP telling us to book, no reason given. Both healthy bmi, him 40s, me 30s, so we did. Following day we both got texts from the NHS telling us to book as we have underlying health conditions. As far as we know we don’t but I doubt the surgery want to use their time discussing it and we’d already booked them in.

Yes, I suppose that's right Anne.

This should be the new slogan.

Three part slogans suck, two part slogans rule!

I went! I had it. I felt a bit shit the next day. Now fine. Whatever the reason is that I got it, I feel very grateful to have had it.
