Called for vaccine but have no health conditions

I've been texted to invite me for vaccine due to underlying health conditions. I am 100 percent healthy. I am 40. Not frontline etc etc.

My only thought is GP has done me a favour as husband died 7 years ago and he (the GP) has always worried about me and my daughters ever since. I think he feels a little guilt for not diagnosing him in time.

Can this be the case? I've booked anyway as everyone says there is no point not taking the slot.

@tunnocksreturns2019

Me too, I’m 41, I’m widowed also. I suspect being late DH’s carer is still on my records (though I wasn’t a proper carer, just his incompetent loved one). I don’t think they change the auto message to make it accurate to different circumstances, just leave it at ‘underlying condition’.

I’m all booked in - as my children’s sole parent I’m really happy to be getting vaccinated soon

@tunnocksreturns2019

Yes, I know what you mean, as only parents it will be a relief to get it.

Sorry for your loss

I got a text today too, my DH is clinically vulnerable so think I'm perhaps marked as his carer. I don't actually provide any care for him though.

I feel a bit bad taking a vaccine now, like I'm queue jumping but have booked in, they're doing it this way for a reason,

Amummyatlast · 13/03/2021 23:46

I got the text too and can’t work out why. Like others, I didn’t click on the link, but went directly to the website, and it let me book with no problems. It it specially said underlying health conditions.

RavingAnnie · 14/03/2021 02:01

I really wouldn't worry about it. This is a national programme being delivered at a fast pace. There are going to be a proportion of errors. It's not important in the whole scheme of things. If you've been called, just go. They can't taff about with fielding calls and regrouping and recalling people. It will slow the whole process down. Just book when called. The more people done, whoever they are, the better. .

I got a text too.

I’m wondering if they’ve missed an inch or two off my height, as my BMI is on the high side. Although I had thought it was less than 40 the last time I was officially weighed.

I've heard there are fraudulent spam texts doing the rounds. So, just in case, if you get one of these, don't click on the link, book online, as PPs have done, or check with your GP that it's genuine.

I got one too and had the vaccination yesterday; early 40s, no underlying health conditions, BMI 20.1. NO GD (never had children!). I do wonder whether there has been an entry made in my medical records by mistake somewhere along the line. I haven't even seen my GP apart from a smear test for about five years.

My genuine invite seemed really dodgy. I got a text from a mobile number to which I had to reply and then I got a phone call from a mobile to book me in. I couldn't figure out what anyone had to gain sending me on a wild goose chase to the hospital so decided it was probably legit but I was quite nervous they were going to turn me away.

Have you ever had gestational diabetes? That will put you on the list.

cyclingtowardsbethlehem · 14/03/2021 07:24

No GD here, normal bmi. I have booked (of course!) But was wondering if there had been a change in criteria.

Crakeandoryx · 14/03/2021 07:26

I'm the same and been called up. Getting an appointment is proving difficult.

WaterBottle123 · 14/03/2021 09:31

@Crakeandoryx

Strange to be called if no availability. Loads of appointments from two weeks time here.
