Thoughts on Autumn holidays abroad? Will restrictions still be in place?

Due to go abroad last year but with lockdown we moved it to October this year.

I’m confident flying will be allowed but I’m not sure I want to go if we have to pay for tests or risk quarantining at our destination. I also don’t want to have to book time slots for pools or restaurants.

We have a limited time before we can move it to 2022 without charges. Do we move it to 2022 or keep it for this October?

WWYD?

I’d move to next year. I can’t see us being out of this by winter and think masks and SD will be in place still. Not to mention the more travel the more variants can spread.

A holiday for me is about exploring new places, eating out, shopping etc. None of which are any fun during a pandemic so we aren’t booking anything until we see how next year is.

I wouldn't.
It's all starting to kick off again in places like Italy and France.
Who knows how many more places will be added by Autumn?

I've just cancelled our holiday to France - it won't be a holiday f we are going slits for everything, wearing masks etc.

If we are booking slots - my phone is playing up!

It’s all so uncertain. DH thinks we should hold on as we should be able to go in October but I’m unsure Confused

We've got a week in Portugal booked in October too. Pushed from last October to May, then in again to October this year. I can't decide what to do either. If we have to quarantine on our return then we definitely won't go. I think I'm going to take a view in August and decide then. Fortunately it's all amendable with no penalty.
