What are the time scales for a home test these days?

We had a nightmare back in September but thankfully haven't and to test since.

What is the turnaround like now? How long to get the test / results?

Anyone able to give an idea?

119 won’t escalate until after 5 days since posting back so don’t bother them until then. It’s usually around 72 hours though.

AnaisNun · 12/03/2021 23:02

I sent one off last week at 3pm on a Sunday in one of the priority postboxes. Had the results 9am Monday. Was pleasantly surprised.

MuddleMoo · 12/03/2021 23:06

Posted 9th March 13:00ish results back next day about 22:00.

Jeffjefftyjeff · 12/03/2021 23:11

2 weeks ago: ordered test Saturday, arrived Sunday lunchtime, posted 4pm Sunday, results 4pm Monday

annie987 · 13/03/2021 08:09

We’ve sent a few off recently. Results came back much quicker than the drive in! Posted at 4pm, results in late morning the next day.

VeryScary · 13/03/2021 08:50

Ordered one Thursday, arrived Friday. Posted it back Friday afternoon, results by text first thing Sunday morning. This was last week.

Crunchymum · 13/03/2021 09:26

Thanks for the info.

Have ordered one (first thing) just hope it doesn't take too long.

I ordered a test a week last Tuesday, it arrived Wednesday, results Thursday. Pleasantly surprised with the turnaround, not so much with having bloody Covid!

1990shopefulftm · 13/03/2021 12:53

I sent mine last Saturday 3pm, got my result around 1pm Sunday, appears I live right by a lab though

Crunchymum · 14/03/2021 11:06

Just hoping it arrives in time for today's post (3pm for the priority box)

🤞

I ordered mine on Thursday this week, received it Friday and put it in the post same day, results received early this morning.

VaccineYayVaccineNay · 14/03/2021 11:12

I posted ours 11am last saturday. Got the kids negative results 8am sunday, but my positive result came 8am monday for some reason

Crunchymum · 14/03/2021 11:39

Turnaround seems to be quite quick (which is good) but its looking doubtful we'll get the test in time.

So I guess we won't be able to do / post the test until tomorrow now and we'll all have to stay off for an extra day (I'm assuming negative of course!!)

No home test but drive through, test at 9am on Friday and results back at 8.30pm the same day, so if you can get to a test centre it looks like an 11 hour turnarpund

loopsngeorge · 14/03/2021 12:59

It's really quick now and an efficient service. I've had results back the day after posting the test. Also, 119 were really helpful when I couldn't register my test online. They got the result back to me straight away and it was only a couple of days after I'd sent it off.

Crunchymum · 14/03/2021 14:04

Well we made today's post so fingers crossed.

Can't believe we are self isolating after just one week back 🙄

Same here OP. Both DC absolutely fine before going back, haven't actually been unwell since before last March! Youngest woke up Saturday completely run down, so sent his covid test off yesterday, hoping results come back today. Fingers crossed you get a negative too!
Crunchymum · 15/03/2021 16:18

Just had the negative result.

Have to say I am utterly impressed at the speed (not had to test since September when it was a shambles)

Test ordered 8am Sat
Test arrives Midday Sunday
Test posted 1pm Sunday
Result 4pm Monday.

That was very fast! I posted DS off yesterday at about 330. Still waiting for a result. Hope o get it today. Iybdid say up to 3 days & I do live London so don't know if that'll have an effect on time scale.

Glad you got a negative result.

Crunchymum · 16/03/2021 17:01

We are London too so I was happily surprised.

Mummaofboys93 · 16/03/2021 21:29

I ended up getting the results at about 9pm last night. A negative thankfully.

Crunchymum · 17/03/2021 09:43

Excellent news @Mummaofboys93
