Covid positive child with Croup

My 5 year old is most likely positive as 2 of us in the house are and all 4 of us have been ill.

He has croup and we're just waiting on the results of his test to come through today.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is a thing? Covid causing croup in kids? Surely it can't be a coincidence?

Hi, did you get the results? I've just googled croup or covid and your post came up. My DD has had a sore throat for a few days and today started coughing with a croup like bark. However she also has a runny nose and is sneezing loads which I think are signs it isn't covid. But am unsure! Test booked for tomorrow as non available in my area today.

Croup is (generally speaking) caused by viral illness so I can't see why covid would be any different in that respect from any other viral things.

Cool night air, lots of fluids, and a&e if stridor at rest or struggling for breath.
