Are test results slower at the weekend?

DSS has symptoms and a test booked for first thing tomorrow, they said 1-3 days for results. Does anyone know if his results are likely to take longer because it's the weekend, so more likely the 3 days than 1?

From what people have posted, results are usually back within 24 hours now, even at weekends. Postal tests may be a bit longer.

We had a test early Sunday morning last week and had the results just after midnight. Another test during the week had results back had results within 12 hours so both well within 24 hours.

Tests are really fast now in my experience, often 12 hours. 24 max. I’ve had weekend & weekday tests and they’ve all said results in 1-3 days, I imagine it’s just to cover their backs!

Brilliant, sounds like we'll know well before Monday then, which is what I was hoping. Thanks all.

Test results, while they are generally quite quick these days can “officially” can take up to 5 days with the day of the test being day one. Don’t bother ringing 119 for results before 5 days have passed as they will not escalate until day 6. In your case, with the test being on a Saturday your DSS day 6 would be Thursday.
