8yo DD says she feels unwell. She hasn't got a temperature but she looks flushed and was so excited about going back to school I believe her.

She says she has a sore throat and her tummy feels funny.

If it is covid, how should I look after her? How would I know? Should I order a test?

Also, I'm worried about DP and I getting it as our health isn't great and I'm in a high risk group. Anything other than the obvious handwashing etc we can do to minimise the risk?

I had a covid jab only 5 days ago. I know the full effect doesn't kick in for a few weeks but do you think it gives my body any head start at all in fighting covid?

Get her tested. Drive through is quickest but you can order a test to come tomorrow. Risk losing an extra day back at school if she is negative and better. It is faffy registering the home test online.

First off test her - given her symptoms she may or may have it and take it from there

I agree with other posters that you should get your daughter tested. In the meantime, keep windows in your house open as much as possible so that if it is Covid you reduce the amount of virus you are exposed to.
