Can't book my jab - system 'doesn't recognise' my details?

I'm 55 so now eligible. Went online to book an appt but the system just says it doesn't recognise my details. The details I have entered are correct, I have double checked x10. Has anyone else had a similar issue, and if so, how was it resolved? (Assuming it was Confused ) My GP surgery are running behind so I really wanted to book it directly via the NHS website Sad

Yes! There’s a space between the 2 words in my surname, which the system won’t allow -once they are squished together the system is happier, but then doesn’t recognise me. 119 uses the same system, so same problem Hmm

ConfidenceCrisis44 · 09/03/2021 18:20

@noraclavicle Yes I tried 119 too to no avail. Did you get around it somehow?

I have the same issue and I assume it's because of an issue with my surname. When using my NHS number it worked.

lurker101 · 09/03/2021 18:30

If you’re unsure of your NHS number you can enter some details and get it sent to you (instantly) by text or email.

Same! Used my nhs number and it was fine. Still can't book yet but at least it recognises me!

ConfidenceCrisis44 · 09/03/2021 18:34

@lurker101 I do have my NHS number, didn't like that either. Or my postcode and name. Or DOB. Or any combo of my details. I do not exist on the system!

That’s strange, do you have online access to your GP records? If so, try replicating exactly how your details are recorded on them. Someone at your surgery may have made an error when setting you up. I’m thinking a Helena Bonham-Carter rather than Helena Bonham Carter type thing maybe?

Have you checked your nhs number is correct? Look in a recent prescription for it

I had this for a while. Eventually the system seemed to sort itself out and I could book. Sadly it just required me waiting. I went through the system not recognizing me and the system telling me I had missed my appointment (the one I was trying to book!)

Assume you're not including the spaces? Typing your year of birth as four characters?

LizzieMacQueen · 09/03/2021 18:59

Are you in England @ConfidenceCrisis44 ?

Oh yes - I can't book through the system anyway now for a different reason - but when I was trying it did not like my double barrelled surname!
ArosAdraDrosDolig · 09/03/2021 19:03

Are you in England? If you’re in Wales you can’t book online

ConfidenceCrisis44 · 09/03/2021 19:32

Yes I'm in England. Have checked the details my GP has numerous times so can only assume it's an error in the vaccination system. Annoying. Not sure how to get it sorted since no one knows what the issue is!

DH had the same issue as me and had to book through our GP in the end, OP. I’ll likely have to do the same.
