Just that really? Will we see cases rise or will they just sort of level out?

I suspect also that pandemics have a natural history - some have said 18 months or so, looking historically, so if that's the case, it's about to subside soon anyway, even if it continues to bubble along a bit for a few years.

Thanks to modern technology, we've been much more able to manage the effect of the disease on people, and to some extent our complex society, but it's nonetheless a natural phenomenon.

I sometimes wonder if all this media speculation, about vaccine escape mutants etc, makes us feel that we have more agency than we do, around the basic biological phenomenon that we're living through.
