Help me figure out if DP is telling the truth or not. He says you can from Saturday

Why Saturday? I mean that date isn't even on the roadmap (assuming you're in england)

8th March - can meet another person outdoors for recreational purposes (instead of just exercise)

29th March for outdoor sports, but even then Rule of 6/household limits may apply

@kittykarate rule of 6/ 2 households doesn’t apply to team sports, football, hockey etc. are all restarting on that date.

@ijokeijoke must be a Man Utd supporter. Has he been practising his diving skills in the back garden?

From 29 March

The Government will also allow outdoor sports facilities to reopen, broadening the options for outdoor exercise and recreation. These facilities, such as tennis and basketball courts, and swimming pools, can be used by people in line with the wider social contact limits. Formally organised outdoor sports – for adults and under 18s - can also restart and will not be subject to the gatherings limits, but should be compliant with guidance issued by national governing bodies.

I suspect he has seen that school after school arranged sports can restart today. But it just school sport

kittykarate · 09/03/2021 10:22

@Katie517 - my read was that 'formal' team sports could restart (run under a club of some sort who will have done the COVID risk assessments) but kickabouts in the park would still be rule of 6

Rule of 6 does apply to casual sports (playing football in the park for example) but not organised club sports.
