It’s working this morning for 55 year olds!

Yes, I've just managed to book too (I think it must have been busy as people were nabbing my slots before I entered my email address)!

LurkerTurnedPoster · 08/03/2021 11:11

Yes I managed to book my two appts today! First vaccine this coming Sunday. Hoping it keeps going at this rate as my partner is 52 and expected back in work (university) at the end of March

LeaveMyDamnJam · 08/03/2021 11:44

Thanks for this. I’m now booked. Best news I’ve had in a long time!!

the80sweregreat · 08/03/2021 11:45

It's still saying 56 !

rainbowunicorn · 08/03/2021 11:54

@the80sweregreat

It's still saying 56 !
Have you actually tried to book though? The front page often does not update quickly even though it is possible to go through and book.
the80sweregreat · 08/03/2021 11:56

I have tried a few times, but it's still 56?
Will try again !

Madcats · 08/03/2021 12:00

the80sweregreat just try entering your NHS number and date of birth. If you are eligible it will prompt you for a postcode and give you a list of sites and slots.

About 2 hours after booking mine we were texted by our GP to book for the centre 5 minutes walk away this weekend.

There must be a huge batch of vaccines being shipped this week!

the80sweregreat · 08/03/2021 12:20

Yay! Thank
You for this thread! I'm booked in now!

RoseWineTime · 08/03/2021 12:25

Just tried booking and works for 55 year olds DH!

Chickydoo · 08/03/2021 12:26

I'll be 55 in a few months, not working for me yet.

the80sweregreat · 08/03/2021 12:30

I didn't think I'd ever be pleased with the idea of having needles put in my arm :)
The first one is on the day when it'll be a year since Boris Johnson's first speech about the first lockdown.
What a day that was.
(Living through history like this is so weird at times. )

Neversaygoodbye · 08/03/2021 12:53

Thanks for the post. Hubby will be 56 in April so we're gutted but have now booked - yeah me next!

Madcats · 08/03/2021 21:54

So I think the consensus is that the "front page" of the NHS "book a jab" is a day or two behind what they allow you to book after you have input your NHS number and your DOB. Letters might arrive (not seen ours).

If you have online registration at your GP (to book appointments/repeat prescriptions etc.) you might get contacted before this. If GPs can text/email you are easier to contact.
