Secondary school children to wear masks all day. (indoor areas)
How many masks are you sending them with?

I'll be sending DS1 in with about 4/5 a day, I think. Obviously I can't control when he changes it but you should change them when they get really damp, as moisture particles can travel through the fabric far easier if it's wet. Previously, he had three masks per day (one each for the bus journey and one for corridors) and the corridors one was meant to be the official school one with the badge. Hmm He's very good at changing, carries a plastic bag to put used ones in and I think has only lost two so far. I sew them so can make more but would obviously prefer him not to lose them!

We hand-wash masks in hand-hot water with lots of soap in, and dry them on the radiators, when they've been worn. This is as per advice given by a virologist I know.

They're not exactly hard to get hold of now, so I see no problems sending DS in with several. He says some manky so-and-sos make a paper mask last all week. I appreciate that masks aren't free, but if you have to wear them for a reason, you need to do it properly.

We have loads so they get washed every day. We'll do what we did last term and send him in with two fresh ones per day.

Ds in in sixth form, he is getting some masks provided as he is helping in the school testing centre this week, he has been given a pack of 20 but will use his own travelling to & from school, next week he will wear 1 a day but carry a spare with him.

I have to wear a washable mask at work for 9hrs straight, I find you need to change mask every 2-3hrs as they start to feel damp and uncomfortable. I will be sending my dc to school with 4 washable masks each.

One. They shove them in their pockets, swing the round their wrists and drop them. Absolutely no point sending more than one.
