So confused over schools - CEV a child

Hi I am just I don’t know trying to get my head around things. Daughter is CEV a year 3 so won’t be going back until after Easter holiday as shielding ends on March 31st. Just reading the email about schools opening.
No bubbles - members of staff and children allowed to mix and switch rooms etc
So even less safe than they was last time !
I thought they would try to make them safer not less safe to avoid this all again ?
I’m now even more worried about DD going back !

I don’t know of any schools that aren’t operating some kind of bubbles.
It might be quite big bubbles- a whole year group in some cases as anything else simply isn’t practical.
Staff switching rooms is also more likely as again, the practical logistics mean that this might be necessary.
I see this whole thing very differently from you as I have never viewed my children to be ‘unsafe’ at school.

What does your consultant say about schools? The CEV advice for children is constantly evolving. My son was originally shielding but we’ve been advised that there are very few children who still fall into that category. I assume if your daughter is still CEV then you probably have a lot of contact with a hospital and I would follow their specific advice in relation to your daughters needs, rather than the blanket advice given by the government.

I agree @beckypv, my daughter is CEV but one of her consultants has written to say he feels she can still go into school, given the measures in place (although I feel they are pretty limited). So she is going back on 8th March, although I have to admit to being very very anxious about it.

My daughter was unable to attend the whole year even when schools opened in September but now hospital are following school guidelines specifically they say the shielding requirements ends but if shielding is required then she is required to do so.

@Smartiepants79 are your children CV/CEV? I have definitely felt my dc was unsafe at school - and have taken her out when cases in our local area were rising. I’m not sure how I feel about her going back now, I certainly wouldn’t say it’s ‘safe’, although it’s a relatively small primary with single class bubbles. If you don’t have CV/CEV children it might be very hard to appreciate how worrying this all is.
