I've got my covid vaccine tomorrow. No idea which one it will be until I get there. Just wondering which one you had and what side effects did you get?

I had AZ a week ago. No side effects accept a slightly tender arm. X

I was just tired and had sore arm the day of pfeizer jab and following day. Then 2 days later flu symptoms hit pretty bad. I've also had digestive issues/pain and mild breathlessness.
This could be because I've got IBS and I believe I had covid last year when they weren't testing. So, my body has over-reacted.
I would have like more information as I've never had a reaction to any other jab.

How are you OP? I’ve got mine tomorrow morning - AZ - and though I’m so so grateful I’m also terrified after hearing so many horror stories about bad side effects. I think because covid had taken over our lives for so long now it’s actually a really really big deal having the vaccine. I hope you feel ok x

Yes I think I also had it last year. Maybe that's why my kidney is so sore Rang my GP today and he said he was reluctant to give me antibiotics straight after a Vaccine. I'm told to drink lots of water and rest.

I have slept really deeply since i had mine. Could be seen as a side effect, could be seen as a relief after a year of stress.

I had mine of Sunday morning and my arm was really painful until this morning. I had pains in my back and the back of my head on Monday and felt really odd. I was also really sleepy. I made the dc breakfast at 6am on Monday morning and then woke up on the sofa at 11am 😮.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 04/03/2021 09:16

Well no symptoms yesterday except a slightly achy arm where I'd had the jab.

Today almost 24hours after I've woken achy with swollen glands. Still 100% glad I had the vaccine.

I slept really well last night too, kind of like a weight had been lifted.

Good luck to those having their vaccine today, it's such a positive thing, a step closer to being "normal" again.

Glad to hear you are doing ok OP - you’re right it’s such a positive thing. I’m just back after having mine. Injection didn’t hurt atall. My tongue felt a bit dry and weird but honestly think that’s cos I was so anxious. Got a bit of a metally taste in my mouth - the kind you have when you have a nose spray and some of it drips down. I’ve taken two paracetamol and going to get on with my day. Good luck everyone xx

I had AZ yesterday. Head felt fuzzy, today I am freezing and feel like you do the day or so before coming down with something. This too shall pass!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 04/03/2021 13:42

Glad it went well mooshie!
Thats how I feel step, like I'm coming down with something but I guess it means my body is doing something positive. I'm ready for a nap though! Things to do but I'm going to relax and do nothing after that.

Statistically, the most likely outcome is to have no systemic side effects. This is according to the Zoe symptom tracker app.

From memory, I think it was 15% of Pfizer recipients and 30% of AZ had side effects after the first dose. People with previous infection were more likely to have side effects than those without. For the second dose, people were less likely to have side effects after AZ but more likely after Pfizer.

PilatesPeach · 04/03/2021 14:31

I had Pfizer in January - no side effects at all. My 2 friends had AZ in the last few weeks - both no side effects.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 04/03/2021 19:25

I'm feeling really achy tonight especially around my ribs. No headache or anything though just really achy.
