Anyone getting a burning smell after having Coronavirus?

I had the Coronavirus just after Christmas and after a few days of being informed of the test being positive, I lost my sense of taste and smell for a few days.

I can’t smell or taste anything as keenly as I did before - but the weird thing is that on most days, I get the sense that I can smell something burning from time to time. This is despite being nowhere near a log fire, candles, cooking, or any smoke. (There are no smokers in our household). I’ve even had this sensation when out in the open air!

Has anyone else experienced this? I’m reporting it on the Zoe App on the days that I get this sensation.

My friend's DD had this. Most disconcerting.

Yes my friend had covid in december too and can smell smoke all the time though she says it is getting better

Yup! I'm nearly a year in, now, and haven't had it for a few months, so it does go eventually. But it's very disconcerting when it happens - I'm in a block of flats so was always checking for smoke, etc.

I got the smell of cigarette smoke when I had covid last month, I'm fully recovered now but I do still have occassional moments of being able to smell it.
