As there are so many threads about this and so much confusion, I thought I’d just say this on a thread with a title which might attract people.
Too many people seem to be waiting for a letter to book their jab. You don’t need to. The national website gives the invitation directly to anyone who meets the criteria listed there. That includes anyone who HAS received a letter OR meets the age group criteria or any others that are relevant at the moment.
Lots of 60+ won’t get a letter for days or even until next week, but they can book NOW and the sooner they do, the sooner they will be vaccinated and the sooner younger age groups can be jabbed too.
If you know people who say they are ‘still waiting to hear’ please tell them they don’t need to wait. Their invitation is on the online booking site and it applies to them if they meet the age criteria. They don’t need a letter.
And to those in their upper 50s, keep checking that national booking site because it will allow you to book in the next week probably. And again, this will be possible before letters arrive.
The system does NOT let those who are ineligible book, so if people manage to book they don’t need to fear they have queue jumped or whatever.
Please spread the word, because lack of knowledge slows it down for individuals and for society too. Try to book as soon as you can and take the appointments available to you.
