Post-Covid - Lack of Spatial awareness?

Has anyone else noticed this?
I'm not normally particularly clumsy, but there have been a few things recently - and this afternoon I opened the car door and whacked myself really hard on my forehead with it!
I've never done that in my life before; I simply had no idea I was standing where the door would open - person nearby in the car park was quite concerned.
I'm hoping this is post-covid or long covid, rather than just getting old and senile Hmm

Me ! I finally went back to work last week and I’m constantly knocking things over. I’ve broken things, dropped things. I’m wondering if it’s because I’m just not paying attention.

Oh good (not in a nasty way!)
Yes, dropping things has been another one for me. And misjudging steps, which I'd put down to not looking down as much because of the mask - but on reflection I didn't do that before.

Of course, tiredness and sleep patterns maybe playing into that, given that we were both posting around midnight - unless you're not in the UK and you were posting at a sensible time of day Grin

I had similar some years ago after a really nasty dose of the ‘flu (could barely get out of bed and crawl to the loo for a week) so perhaps it’s a post-viral thing? As far as I can recall, it lasted about three weeks after I felt physically better and the main impact it had was that I avoided driving.

Yes, I was a bit worried about driving home, but didn't have much option.
I sat in the car park for a bit and ate chocolate until it stopped hurting.Smile

I remembered this afternoon when I took the rubbish out that I hit myself on the head last week with the lid of the recycling bin,
