Ds (16) got his invite via the hospital for his covid vaccination .
It is all legit ...I called the number to make the appointment ,, and the call handler went and doubled checked as well .
I did not want to do a long bus journey ..just to get turned away .

Just wondering what the reactions will / maybe like in this age group .?.
I am mid 50' and felt rough for 4 days .
Thanks.

When I had my Pfizer vaccine there was 4 other teenagers in there with parents getting it done so they are vaccinating them
I'm 29 had slight pain when moving my arm for 24 hours

Kmx123 thank you for replying .
Good to know other teenagers are having them .
Yes ..i am having a wobble at having booked it for him !
My mum had Pfizer , and all she had was the sore arm .
AZ/Oxford seems to be different.

Feel " bad" he is getting it when there are so many threads on here with older/vunerable still waiting .

Is he clinically vulnerable op? Is that why he’s being done now? Sorry trying to understand why teens are being invited.

bizzey · 24/02/2021 22:45

Bluntness100 I agree with you !
I was very confused when I got the text.
He is under 2 departments within the hospital .
He had a major neurology surgery a few months ago , where his lung had to be deflated and he is under cardiology for another issue .
But I did not think that made him CV?

Do not feel bad at all, he needs it. Society needs it.
AZ only licensed in over 18s. I had AZ and couldn't remember the next day which arm I'd had it in the following day.

campion · 24/02/2021 22:49

Given his history I imagine that's why he's been invited.

Group 6 covers 16-64s, related health conditions is a fairly extensive list and openly published. I’d imagine most teens who qualify would rather they didn’t have the related health condition in the first place. One of mine in this group had it, sore arm for about 24hrs but nothing beyond that.

CoronaIsShit · 24/02/2021 23:01

My DS (18) had the Pfizer vaccine last month. He had a slightly heavy/sore arm for a day (same as me as I got it too as his carer) with no other effects. I was very wobbly about him having it too but I’m so glad I did Smile.

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 24/02/2021 23:04

I'm not a teenager (I'm 26), but also had the Pfizer and just had a very heavy/numb arm for about 24 hours. Surprisingly numb compared to the flu jab actually.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply .
I just was not expecting him to have it before his brothers ( 18/19) who have asthma and on meds for that from GP .
