Symptoms of Covid but negative result

I've got a rotten cold, I'm on day 3 of it

Been in bed sleeping a lot as feel wiped out, sore throat and cough

No fever though

I've did a tested yesterday which was negative

Then today by taste and smell has gone

My 6 year old also has a cold but doesn't feel unwell like I do

Could I have Covid or is it safe to assume it's just a cold?

I would re test in a day or two and continue to isolate . It is possible to get a false negative

Sounds like it's worth getting a second test just in case.
