I don't remember him talking about this yesterday, can anyone shed some light?

Eg. can we safely book foreign travel without having to account quarantine?

I wouldn't back on quarantine free travel. I think it'll be 2022 before that happens

I wish i knew! Have holiday booked in August moved twice already! No way we can go if kids will have to miss more school to quarantine

Racoonworld · 23/02/2021 20:40

Apparently foreign travel is being discussed in April so there should be more info then.

thank you. its just very tricky because we'd have to book the time off now to secure (especially as its for a honeymoon!)

So hard to say as it's so dependent on the situation in other countries - entry requirements, quarantine etc

spookycookies · 24/02/2021 09:41

Will depend on new variants I assume. Wouldn't want to risk being a vaccine resistant strain back.

edwinbear · 24/02/2021 11:09

Booking foreign travel right now is a gamble. It's for you to decide if you're happy with taking the risk, nobody can you tell you whether it's 'safe' or not, because it's still an unknown as to what restrictions will look like in June.

As edwinbear said, booking a holiday abroad is a bit of a gamble. We're reliant on vaccine supply, it working as well as expected and variants. I understand you're interested and in quarantine and why, but don't forget we're ahead of the game in comparison to many countries. I'd also be concerned about whether they'll require vaccine passports (as Greece as talking about) or require a negative covid test for anyone not vaccinated. Also, if they find themselves in a bad place, they might be closing down hotels, self catering establishments.

Racoonworld · 24/02/2021 11:19

@Siw2020 if you book now then check the small print very carefully for any cancellation policies for covid. Could you book the time off then have a break in the UK instead if you can’t go abroad?

Frazzled2207 · 24/02/2021 11:21

Very difficult to say. We are booked for august but will change to summer 2022 if any quarantine requirement. You’d hope that a vaccine at least might be a ticket out of quarantine.

userxx · 24/02/2021 13:17

require a negative covid test for anyone not vaccinated.

Wont tests be required anyway ? Once you've been vaccinated you can still catch the virus and pass on to others ?
