Anyone have a clue about when driving lessons may resume?

I’m desperate for it to happen again soon.
My dd has only manages 3 lessons since Oct half term due to lockdowns.
2 theory rests cancelled. 😞

My ds had his test booked for the day in January we went into lockdown.😡

I think it’s after 21st April????! Not sure though.

I've just read no earlier than the 12th April.

Driving tests are mentioned in the roadmap as being no earlier than April 12, but it doesn't specifically mention lessons, though I would assume at the moment it's the same.

I had a text earlier to say my test has been rebooked for July (been cancelled twice previously) and that driving lessons will resume in April

Was hoping for March - DS failed his test in December. He delayed learning due to us being meant to emigrate last June to NZ (obviously didn't as they're not processing any visas). He's 18, didn't go to Uni and every job he wants to apply for (and those he doesn't) require a full driving licence! He's already had his vaccination due to being CEV - he's had to shield for most of the pandemic.

This was the first thing I was hoping to get info on. DD17 had her test cancelled twice and just wants it over with.

Plus I'd really like to stop having to ferry her to work 493573209753 times a week.

DS has his test booked for June, so lessons restarting in April would be ok for him, it would give him a few weeks to get ready.

Lessons should be able to restart before tests - you can't do a test after having not driven for four months, not everyone can practise with parents and there was some confusion about whether it was even allowed, as well.

I also think they should temporarily change the age to 18 to allow the backlog to clear and give priority to those with theory tests about to run out as they won't extend them.

So it may be in April sometime, hopefully!

Daughters driving instructor is booking from April 12th - test booked for June (after being cancelled 3 times) just hoping this time it happens for her.

Im also wondering about the theory test. I rebooked it from this week to the 24th march.

My dad is a driving instructor. He hasn't been told officially yet but is assuming from same time as non essential retail

I hope we can soon rebook to get a late April cancellation if poss. My dd had her jan test cancelled and rebooked for June. She was more than ready for her Jan test.
