2 week dream honeymoon or 2 x 1 week breaks, WWYD?

Obviously, COVID rules permitting...

For context: DP & I have been together for ~10 years, finally getting married this summer having had to postpone from last year. Both NHS workers on COVID wards eagerly anticipating a break. Didn't often go on holiday even pre-pandemic and been saving for a big honeymoon since engagement several years ago. Having a very small covid-friendly wedding even though it is now possible to have more people.

Obviously there are risks and expenses to consider if booking a luxury honeymoon on an island far away and potential isolation etc/ last minute cancellation. Or the alternative is to take 2 x 1 week breaks to nearby destinations in Europe as not worth travelling far for only a 1 week stretch and if need to cancel wont be as much of a loss financially.

Of course we are very much aware that none of this might happen, I might be dreaming and the reality is 2 weeks off at home like last summer but at the same time we have 2 weeks of leave which has to be taken.

WWYD?

2 week dream but book with flexibility just in case. You will get to go at some point and if it’s the dream I think it’s worth waiting for rather than 2x1 week (also at risk of cancellation as well?)

Definitely go big if you can, sounds like you’ve earnt it. We had an amazing megabucks honeymoon and haven’t been on many holidays in the 10 years following it! I am so glad we did it when we could and had a good excuse to!

will you have to quarantine in a hotel?

If so, would you have to do this twice if you went on 2 x 1 week?

that is a very good point!

does anyone know what it means beyond June 21st when all lockdown restrictions are eased, do we still need to quarantine etc?
