But imagine gyms were museums, and you have reality.

Thanks for the lies, Boris.

Thanks for the uproar, great British public.

I have no idea what you are trying to say!

Doomsdayiscoming · 22/02/2021 22:35

Step Two: 12 April

Retail graphic tile for Sky News economics tracker
• Non-essential retail, including hairdressers and beauty salons, can reopen

• Libraries, museums, zoos, theme parks and gyms can open - but no indoor mixing of different households allowed

Nope. Am not clear what the issue is?

Catlover10 · 22/02/2021 22:37

I’m so confused what you’re upset about? Gyms and museums seem to be opening at the same time?

LaurieFairyCake · 22/02/2021 22:37

Wtf

Step away from the Sherry......

And say it again - maybe with a graph ? So we know what the frig you're talking about

Doomsdayiscoming · 22/02/2021 22:37

They’ve updated the original guidance, it now excludes Museums from 12th April.

That quote is from Sky News, which hasn’t updated.

You can exercise outside, you can’t go to a museum outside. Yet gyms are opening.

I know what the plan is but I don’t understand what you are trying to say. I’m guessing your unhappy with something, although not not entirely sure which part you are unhappy with or why. What do you think Boris is lying about?

Doomsdayiscoming · 22/02/2021 22:39

BBC:

Stage three
No earlier than 17 May:
People can meet in groups of up to 30 outdoors
Six people or two households can meet indoors
Up to 30 people can meet to celebrate weddings or other life events, like christenings
Remaining outdoor entertainment, such as outdoor theatres and cinemas can open
Indoor entertainment such as museums, theatres, cinemas and children's play areas can open

Ahhhh I see your point now.

It's tricky as gyms you have access to the trainers etc. I think it's more important for museums to open but you can see it from both side.

Thatwentbadly · 22/02/2021 22:39

Are you saying gyms are now opening for individual use on the 12th but museums are opening later?

Chailatteplease · 22/02/2021 22:41

Sorry OP but I highly doubt the public would go into uproar about museums not opening. Gyms keep a lot of people’s mental as well as physical health in check. Not sure why you’re making the comparison between them though.

Doomsdayiscoming · 22/02/2021 22:41

I’m saying they said 12th April for Museums and now it’s 17th May.

OP posts:
NuttySlacker · 22/02/2021 22:42

Oh I see. The date for museums has been pushed back in line with other indoor entertainment venues.

Other then generally wanting everything open as soon as possible, I am not sure museum opening dates are top of my uproar list tbh. Sorry! I think I am the wrong crowd for this thread Grin

Catlover10 · 22/02/2021 22:42

I guess the gyms are opening earlier to help people’s mental health perhaps? I don’t go to the gym but might actually join when they open, it might make me feel better about myself. So I guess this is why they’ve prioritised it over museums

Doomsdayiscoming · 22/02/2021 22:42

I disagree, but even then, why change it?
OP posts:
Kimye4eva · 22/02/2021 22:43

Museums are classed as indoor entertainment. It’s just bringing them in line with other such venues.

Why do you have such an issue with gyms?

InterfectoremVulpes · 22/02/2021 22:43

@Doomsdayiscoming

I’m saying they said 12th April for Museums and now it’s 17th May.
So why didn't you actually say that then or were we supposed to imagine that bit as well?
Racoonworld · 22/02/2021 22:44

Sorry don’t really see the problem. They made a mistake and corrected it. I don’t think museums are on most people radar as the most important things to open?

hobbyiscodefordogging · 22/02/2021 22:44

Did the government actually say museums would be opening in April? Or was it just the media that said that, ahead of the PM's address at 7pm?

2021namechanger · 22/02/2021 22:45

Arguably I think gyms are higher priority for a whole range of reasons.

Chailatteplease · 22/02/2021 22:46

You disagree because visiting museums helps to promote peoples mental and physical health? Scientifically, not just because they enjoy it, like visiting a museum?

Maybe they changed it because they realised museums are more in line with cinemas, theatres etc.

DavidsSchitt · 22/02/2021 22:46

The press got it wrong? Never?!

What do gyms have to do with museums?

Howshouldibehave · 22/02/2021 22:47

I’m confused what the problem is? Was there a mistake which has been corrected?

Thatwentbadly · 22/02/2021 22:47

I’m really excited for museums to open again - we used to go them every weekend but this is the right decision.

Womencanlift · 22/02/2021 22:49

So you think walking around a museum is more important or the same importance as people getting healthy? Hmm
