Hot air ballon trips. What category does this fall under and would you do it

I've got a hot air ballon trip booked wirh virgin ballons for 5th April it was brought last year as a 30th birthday present.ive had no contact so far from the company saying whats happening I can't imagine its going to happen and I'm confused which category its under /is it allowed to go ahead...... also its me and my dad(2 separate households going) id need to see if dad is comfortable with it -though his had his 1st vaccine we would be wearing masks but also will be with around 15 other strangers...... what would you do?

Would that break the rule of 6 for outdoors? I'm not sure really. I expect the company will be able to tell you a bit nearer the time.

Perhaps we can categorise it as a method of public transport. If you were on the tube, you could definitely cram into a small space with 15 others. At least a hot air balloon is well ventilated....

I can't imagine that would go ahead - you wouldn't be able to socially distance.

May 17th at the earliest I think when rule of 6 outside is scrapped.

Possibly March 29th if no more than 6 people and they can socially distance?

We have a flight booked with someone called wickers world. I haven’t looked for an update yet but they tend to have an accurate and legal description of the law around COVID to give you a perspective

I checked wickers workd website. They are hoping to trial fly with 2 people earlier, but start full flights 12th April
Contact them as they will need to cancel and move ASAP to safer date?

God how amazing, what a great opportunity. Don't know the answer but hope you get to go.

The reality of hot air balloons is that they are highly subject to last minute cancellation from weather conditions anyway. My friends ended up being 18m before they actually got the right weather without a pandemic in the way.

It wouldn't fit any criteria before 12th April anyway and is then debatable depending on issues like numbers and the definition of the activity, so that could push towards May.

it falls under the amazingly good fun category. I hope you get to go at some point this year. We were booked for an early evening flight which got cancelled to morning - so peaceful and beautiful.

Surely they will extend the deadline for using the voucher, given that they haven't been allowed to fly for a year.

Probably May 17th at earliest because of the 15 other strangers. Enjoy though when you finally manage to go
