So can I ditch my face mask in June?

I hate the mask!! Are there no more masks from June? Or are they here to stay?

One of the reports suggested that some precautions would still be needed, such as hands, face, space. Not looking great for ditching the mask. Sorry, OP.

If it goes back to being guidance only I'm burning every fucking one in my house. If it's a legal requirement I'll comply like a good citizen.

Same puzzlement here - masks not mentioned other than their introduction for children in classrooms (which is daft, I don't have to wear one in the office).

That's not true. There may be some residual messaging around voluntary measures regarding social distancing etc but no one has said masks will continue to be mandatory after June

Think they are part of a social distancing review being done in April.

They’re part of the April review, along with social distancing. There is no update on them right now and they aren’t included in the “no restrictions by June” thing.

Think masks will be here to stay for a little while longer OP, so don't go binning them just yet!

I think I’ll probably still wear mine and give people lots of space regardless. If people come too close I’ll start talking gibberish and start imaginary water dousing everywhere. Should be a good laugh at least.

I'll wear them until we are told not to.

Then I'm having a big party and having all my friend bring theirs and use them as bunting. I think it will be pretty!

God, I hope so!! There will be no true normality while they're compulsory in so many leisure settings. Hope to join y'all in a summer ritual burning!

My work place has already told us that we will be required to wear masks whatever until autumn. It'll be interesting to know what they require of the customers.

Hope they stay forever tbh! When I’m rammed into a tube carriage on the way to work I’d rather we all had masks so people don’t cough and sneeze all over the place

Same in the supermarkets - it’s so much better in masks ! I hear people coughing etc but at least a it’s held back by the mask
