Holiday home in Wales for Easter?

As people will no longer legally be required to stay at home from the 29th March, will we be able to go and stay in our holiday home in Wales for a week over the Easter holidays? We take all our food and spend the time walking and cycling so won’t come into contact with anyone else.

Will be subject to what WAG decide - so nothing BoJo says today is relevant.

As above, no one on here will be able to tell you.

Kitkat151 · 22/02/2021 15:55

Is your primary home in wales or England ( or elsewhere) ?

lunalucie · 22/02/2021 16:00

If you live in England I wouldn't bet on it. Drakeford is loving not letting anyone in or out. He's mentioned hospitality opening back up for Easter but no mention of travel restrictions being lifted yet.

SunshiningBetty · 22/02/2021 16:13

Oh right thank you. I’ll await the info from Wales. Holiday home is in Wales, we are in England.

I could cry. We had a cabin booked the first week of the Easter hols. If we had booked a week later we would have been able to go.

Looks like you can travel to a holiday home in England from England but only after 12th April..... if wales are happy for English to cross border then you could go from 12th April....as it’s your holiday home I guess you will be flexible with dates so you might well be ok

skeggycaggy · 22/02/2021 17:16

I saw May somewhere, for travel across the borders.

HauntedPencil · 22/02/2021 17:41

Yes I wouldn't bank on it - he's alluded to travel restrictions being eased but it's a full travel ban at the minute

He might bring in restrictions from high prevalence areas or a stay local rule for a bit

Frazzled2207 · 22/02/2021 18:13

I have an inkling he will allow travel within Wales only.
You wouldn’t blame him though if it was banned in England- there’d be an exodus.

@CometCupidDonnerBlitzen us too. I've done really well through this whole lockdown but this has really hurt :(
