Can we travel for the outdoor coffee?

It's ridiculous how grateful I'll be to be allowed to meet up with a friend and a flask.

When it comes in, will we be able to travel to do it? The person I most want to have coffee with lives c. 50 miles away.

Don't be silly.

Lissy23 · 22/02/2021 14:50

I hope so, I’m in a similar position.

minniemoocher · 22/02/2021 14:51

Who knows? We await the revisions later today just like you. If they alter the rules along the same lines as last may then it will be allowed. But we cannot say yet!

CouldItBeJeffrey · 22/02/2021 15:00

Absolutely, do it. My best friend is 20 miles away and I'll be driving to her (she doesn't drive) to sit in her local park with a flask.

Kitkat151 · 22/02/2021 15:00

It’s looking like day trips will be allowed ? in April

Lissy23 · 22/02/2021 15:04

I want to see my long distance partner who I haven’t seen since December and I can’t form a bubble with due to our living circumstances. So I’ll be travelling to meet him outdoors

TokyoSushi · 22/02/2021 15:05

I think you'll be able to from 29th March

Lissy23 · 22/02/2021 15:07

I’m actually doing it from the 8th and will risk a fine because I’m desperate to see him. We have to meet outdoors anyway, we’ve been kept apart for this long. Face time calls just aren't the same. We can’t have a cuddle or kiss on there ☹️ It might sound selfish, but I miss him so much. We’re in love, but we can’t be together, it’s torture.

If the "leaks" are correct then yes but no overnight stays.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 22/02/2021 16:30

It says stay local still applies on 29th March and SD so presumably April for further travel but maybe still with SD.

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2021 16:47

I really want to see my best friend. But he's 100 miles away. Was hanging on to it being allowed by the 8th of March. Not the end of it. Sad

nolovelost · 22/02/2021 17:36

This is what I want to know after not seeing family for nearly a year!

nolovelost · 22/02/2021 17:37

Yeah, think it's from 29th March.

Spodge · 22/02/2021 17:40

Boris said they plan to lift the legal duty to stay at home on the 29th March along with allowing recreational meet ups outdoors between 2 persons, including in private gardens. I think travel for the purpose would be allowed but we have yet to see the finer detail.

nolovelost · 22/02/2021 17:43

Outdoor gatherings of 6/two households from 29th March.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 22/02/2021 17:51

The roadmap days from 29th can meet up outdoors with SD if not the same household but mentions still re staying local.

The stay at home is lifted so you can leave for non essential reasons like coffee but I don’t think fifty miles would count as local.

nolovelost · 22/02/2021 18:01

Can't find anything that says stay local...
