Risk to autoimmune people receiving the vaccine

My dd is 30 and is taking immunosuppressants ( azathioprine)
She is worried about receiving the vaccine, and what it might do to her.
She has mental health issues as well, and it is really affecting her mood ( bipolar)
In addition, I've just had the AstroZeneca and I was really ill after it.
Has anyone with similar problems had the vaccine yet? Just looking for some reassurance really.

None of the vaccines are live and are safe on immunosuppressants. Check with consultant/ GP to reassure.

Does your daughters have crohns if she is on azathioprine? It is safe to have the vaccines with this. My son has crohns and he has been vaccinated [ AZ ] with no side effects at all.

My mum is on immunosuppressants humira and methotrexate for her arthritis and she has also had the vaccination with no issues, and she didn't have to come off these before having them. She has been absolutely fine.

I have IBD and am also on azathioprine.
Had Oxford jab a few weeks ago, advised by IBD nurse and GP, felt rotten the next day but fine now xx

I'm on methotrexate and had the AZ jab yesterday. I felt very tired in the evening and my arm was sore overnight. Also had weird dreams but that may be due to alcohol consumption Grin I've been fine today.

Hi @ohsuzannah and others,

just wanted to share that the ZOE COVID project at Kings College London is hosting a free webinar next week on the vaccines and immunosuppressive drugs. Thought it might be of interest to some on this chat:
