Are these Covid symptoms I have?

I had a continuous cough but only overnight two nights ago and then it stopped.

I have been feeling achey in my legs and back and chest area. If I take a deep breath in, I feel a constriction in my chest. I have had to sleep sitting up almost last night

So no fever, temperature, or cough, no headache, no loss of taste/smell.

So you had a test because of the continuous cough?
What was the result?
Yes, these are Covid symptoms including one of the 'big three' that mean you should test in the UK.

theonlywayisup33 · 21/02/2021 11:35

I didn't have a test as it was only started at night and then it had gone in the morning.

I would test with those symptoms personally but if you’re unsure ring 119 and see what they advise.

OverTheRainbow88 · 21/02/2021 11:39

I would test too

everythingisstillginandroses · 21/02/2021 11:44

At least 10 of us in my office and a similar number in DH's office got sick in March just before lockdown. We weren't tested as community testing wasn't available then. I experienced a tight, constricted chest. My cough was marginal and dry, came and went. DH and DS also unwell, thankfully mild in DS's case. I did run a low fever for many days, but I understand not everyone gets this. We did not lose sense of taste or smell. Colleagues reported body aches.

In your position, I would isolate and get a test if you can.

BrokenCircle · 21/02/2021 11:44

Have a test and then you will know.

GoldenGumballs · 21/02/2021 11:46

get a test.

usernotfound0000 · 21/02/2021 11:48

I would test, aching muscles and headache were my first symptoms.

covetingthepreciousthings · 21/02/2021 11:49

I would test and the household should isolate in the meantime.

Purplewithred · 21/02/2021 11:52

Those are more symptoms than I had and I tested positive. I agree you need to test.

Ch3rish · 21/02/2021 11:52

As pretty much anything can be a symptom why not have a test and find out, no one on the internet can tell you

MrsBennetsnerves · 21/02/2021 11:55

You had a continuous cough and you also have possible symptoms now . I'm not sure why you didn't get a test earlier, but it's not too late to get one.

theonlywayisup33 · 21/02/2021 12:00

@MrsBennetsnerves well it was only Friday night that I had the cough. I spoke to a doctor friend who works in coronavirus wards yesterday and she said as the cough had stopped it didn't sound like covid but it still sounded viral.

However, yes I think I will order the test. I haven't been out since the cough

RedcurrantPuff · 21/02/2021 12:02

None of can tell you. Book a test and isolate meantime

Ch3rish · 21/02/2021 12:07

Do you have a local test centre, if you feel OK couldn't you go for a test today and find out sooner

LindaEllen · 21/02/2021 12:25

I'd test based on that. Mine and DP's coughs didn't last very long whatsoever.

theonlywayisup33 · 21/02/2021 12:28

Test booked!

@theonlywayisup33 how did you get on? I've got similar symptoms to you, test on it's way!

Porcupineintherough · 23/02/2021 21:20

Good that you booked OP

I had COVID at Christmas. I coughed for 1 afternoon, then it stopped and I felt a fraud taking the test but we were planning to see my parents on Christmas day so I did it just to be sure. The positive result and a whole load more symptoms including a continuous cough arrived a couple of days later.

theonlywayisup33 · 24/02/2021 08:21

@ReginaPhilangeee I got a negative result!
