How busy are the mass vaccine centres and hubs?

Just wondering about this, as lots of people are reporting that when they book, vast amounts of appointments are available.

If you’re able to say which county you’re in and if a mass centre or local vaccine hub, it would be very helpful.

I understand they are limited by supply of vaccine, but what about capacity at the centres too....busy or seemingly quiet? Thanks.

I had Pfizer last week at a vaccine centre in my local market town in the south east. My GP phoned me the day before and offered me several times on that day. It was well managed but with a constant flow of people, two desks for checking in and 2 rooms for administering the vaccine. We all sat in a room for 15 mns post vaccine, there we probably 10 to 15 others there. There was no waiting and I was vaccined on time.

not been but heard that the mass vaccination centres are nowhere near capacity - manchester is rouggh 50%. This is because people from miles around are being asked if they'd like to travel to it and they're choosing their local gp hub instead. Understandable for older folk.
Andy Burnham has suggested that younger more mobile people willing to travel get offered spots at the mass vaccination centre so they can up their capacity. No idea if the actual supply of vaccines is up to it though.

My DH went to a big hub in Warwickshire. We got there at 1130 for a 1135 no idea what was going on he had to queue outside then queue inside he eventually got vaccinated about 1210 and spent most of his time about 30 mins queuing inside socially distanced - still it was longer than he expected.

He asked one of the volunteers if it was usually this busy and the volunteer said it seemed to get busy all at once then quiten down - he said when he left there was no queue so maybe too many picked that 11-12 slot so don’t pick that one! He did pick 1135 as his appointment

He said it felt a bit risky but a large hall and spread out

Fife - my parents (74 and 71) had there vaccines on Thursday - they said it was very quiet and the vaccination centre had cancelled 300 appointments that day.

Fife is a mess. Way behind and making appointment fuck ups every day

Plus in Scotland we aren't allowed to book. You have to wait for a letter telling you where and when you've been allocated.

what if you can't go because of work or childcare or something?

The hub I volunteer at SE is closed for 5 days due to no supplies - they have been diverted elsewhere - no idea where.
