Anyone had C19 with ONLY feeling knackered & other mild symptoms?

I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop as have heard awful stories about being fine for a few days or a week THEN getting the fever, the cough etc.

Is that what happened to you? Or did you just feel “ill” and weak for a few days and then... get better?

Had this at the start of the first lockdown. Sore throat, aching bones and generally shattered for about 2-3 weeks. Not quite flu level exhaustion but shattered.Possibly Covid, possibly not.

I think you can be tested now with pretty much any symptom. But I'd be inclined to stay in for a few days and take it easy unless you have family members out and about a lot.

Beaniecats · 20/02/2021 10:55

Normal it's a mild to moderate illness fir majority

SirSamuelVimes · 20/02/2021 10:55

Every single person I know who has had it, has had it like that. Including me. A few days of feeling crap, but able to power through and carry on with childcare, cooking, etc. Needing to sleep more and move slower.

For the vast majority, cv19 is a mild illness.

I had a slight temperature for a few hours and then felt like I had a bad cold for about 5 days. I was still able to do my job from home as well as home school my kids so quite mild I would say. My husband however was in bed for two weeks solid. My kids didn’t catch it.

AnyFucker · 20/02/2021 10:56

Yes

Iamclearlyamug · 20/02/2021 10:58

I had literally 2 days of feeling like I had a cold coming (headache, blocked up nose, sore throat, tired) and that was it

Definitely had it too, positive PCR test etc

applecatchers36 · 20/02/2021 10:59

Yes both my husband and I had very mild symptoms, mainly feeling very tired but managed to carry on with keeping everything going with small kids in the house who were asymptomatic. We all got tested and all had Covid. We all recovered and, touch wood, no lingering symptoms.

Dinocan · 20/02/2021 11:00

I had very mild symptoms, so did most of the family (apart from dh). I kept waiting for the symptoms to ramp up after a week/10 days as I heard it was possible but all that happened was I lost my sense of smell /taste for a few days a week in. No fever at any point, just mild sore throat and feeling a bit tired and dizzy. Had dh not tested it wouldn’t have occurred to me that I’d had covid until the loss of taste a week in. For me the worst bit by far was the worry that I was suddenly going to be stricken down with fever/unable to breathe and what we’d do with the children as dh was badly poorly (but not with classic symptoms either).

Had it in Novemember. Went off food for a few days and felt knackered. Still able to look after toddler DD, albeit with the help of Bing and a group nap after lunch. Felt much better after a few days, that was it.

Dinocan · 20/02/2021 11:02

Oh yes forgot to say I felt coldy too. Blocked sinuses. Seemed to be much more in the head than anything on the chest. Big outbreak at dh work and most of them felt like they had a cold.

Chrestomanci3 · 20/02/2021 11:03

I had a change in taste and that was the only symptom. I was expecting that the symptoms would develop further but they didn't. I even got a pulse oximeter as I had heard that that oxygen could go down without people feeling worse until it was too late, but that was (reassuringly) fine too.

ChocOrange1 · 20/02/2021 13:12

Pretty much everyone j know who had covid had mild symptoms as you describe. One person had a chest cough and fatigue, but they dint have a positive test

MGMidget · 20/02/2021 16:58

I had a positive antibody test result before Christmas and the doctor said I had had Covid most likely in the past 12 weeks. Not sure how that was calculated but maybe something to do with the antibody level. Anyway, I cannot think when I had any suspicious symptoms. No idea when I had it!

Ch3rish · 20/02/2021 17:01

Everyone I know who's had it has had a mild case, isn't that what the majority are, especially when you include all the asymptomatic cases.

everythingisstillginandroses · 20/02/2021 17:28

For the first four days I just felt very tired and was running a slight temp, sore throat and headache came and went. Day 5 my chest started to tighten. Day 6 I felt as weak as a kitten. Days 8-11 I felt absolutely fucking dreadful. Day 12 my lungs still hurt and I coughed up very small amount of blood, that freaked me out and made me seek medical attention. Only after 3 weeks did I feel any confidence that I wasn't going to get worse. It took 6 weeks to start feeling a linear recovery. It took 6 months to stop getting aches in my lungs when I lay down to sleep at night. I was 44, healthy BMI, walked 5-6km daily, no health issues whatsoever.

HairyFloppins · 20/02/2021 17:30

Yes I had similar. Barley affected my teens. My DH got it the worst.

LimitIsUp · 20/02/2021 17:30

Not me but my 18 year old dd had it like that. She wouldn't have realised she had covid but for the fact that her sense of smell was affected (short term). I burnt some bacon under the grill making the entire lower floor stink and she couldn't smell a thing - at that point she got a test. Otherwise she would have been blissfully unaware

everythingisstillginandroses · 20/02/2021 17:31

BTW, I think mine is what might be called a 'moderate' case!

WitchWife · 20/02/2021 19:14

Aw thanks everyone for posting. I tested positive a week ago (after a stomach upset the study asked me to test) and have just been sleepy, weak, bit of an upset tum but feel better today. Glad to hear there are others who have had similar. So bloody weird how differently it can affect people.

I know many people won’t have any symptoms but I don’t hear much between that and “in bed for a fortnight” or much worse.
