If you have had both the flu vaccine and the covid vaccine this year, did you get side effects to one, both, or neither? In some ways you might think it could be related, if you are the sort whose body lets you know that it's mounting an immune response by various symptoms - that might happen regardless of which vaccine.
I was told by the vaccinator that more people were getting side effects for the flu vaccine this year compared to previous ones (I had the under 65s one), but in the end, I didn't feel anything more than slight site tenderness. Totally fine otherwise.
I haven't had the covid one yet, but I'm wondering whether I will similarly not get many side effects, or if there is absolutely no relation between who develops side effects to any particular vaccine. I'm booked for Pfizer next week.
In some ways I would like side effects so that I know it's worked, but I'm also happy not to have them if I know for sure it's working anyway. I have had other vaccines to childhood illnesses in the past, but have got the illnesses anyway (including some of the highest % effective vaccines) so I always wonder and hope my body is doing what it should. I have had other vaccines in the meantime, but only for things that I am very unlikely to come into contact with, so hard to tell if they have worked or not.
