@crossstitchingnana.

And one thing that REALLY FUCKS ME OFF is when idiots FORGET that that's the total after 3 lockdowns and social distancing etc. Can you imagine how many would have died if we'd carried on? 😡😡😡😡

This. With bells on. And it never ceases to amaze me how many people still don’t get it. I’m not having a pop at people having a moan on here - free speech and all that - just gobsmacked at the number of people that don’t seem to think that the ?low number of deaths are in any way connected to the restrictions we’ve been living under ....

orchidsonabudget · 17/02/2021 13:44

Can someone explain why the WHO is corrupt?

hopsalong · 17/02/2021 13:48

Enough fake altruism from people who are in fact just shit scared of getting and dying from a Covid. (I'm not saying there's not a lot of real altruism going on too. But poke under the skin of many ardent pro-lockdowners, and they're not Mother Theresa, they just can't understand a table of statistics).

Enough of the idea that the normal, averagely virtuous person can be expected to give up a huge number of things valuable to them, for an indefinite length of time, to save the lives people they don't know.

If human beings were that selfless we would be extinct! Natural selection doesn't give much of a shit about killing granny, but it gives a massive shit about making sure that our offspring thrive and go on to reproduce. Of course, we can use rationality to overcome genetic instincts. But there are limits.

IamHyouweegobshite · 17/02/2021 13:48

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully

ENOUGH of schools being closed and enough of teaching unions hating children
Teaching unions do not 'hate' children, what a ridiculous statement! The teaching unions are there to protect teachers and school staff to have a safe working environment. Children do spread covid, we are shut in our bubbles of 31 more if you're lucky to have a ta, all doors and windows open, no social distancing. Many children in my class have had covid, fortunately they were not poorly, however it spread to others who were extremely poorly.
Whirlwind14 · 17/02/2021 13:53

Enough of 2/3 of my DD’s life being in restrictions.

Enough of being so helpless when my DS cries that he misses his friends and grandparents..

Enough of this wasted time

Enough of people moaning about their social lives when others are dying during a Pandemic.
Why would you write pandemic with a capital P? Confused

gerbilfur · 17/02/2021 13:58

Enough of the DM writing articles on virus mutations daily which make me want to put my head through a wall.

Enough of having to homeschool my ds and hold down a full time job at the same time.

Enough of never getting to see my friends and family in person.

Just ENOUGH 😭

Enough of this anthropologically-illiterate bollocks.

Humans are by their very nature cooperative, it's how we took over the world. You've been reading too many Tory influenced 'think' pieces and 'philosophies' about individualism - heavily promoted because it stops people noticing structural inequalities and gets its fighting each other rather than those hoarding resources

But we're literally designed to be cooperative and altruistic within our communities. Those who aren't we've called their behaviour criminal because it's against the greater good

You should read up on it - it's a lot more heartening than anything you'll read on this thread.

RealisRare · 17/02/2021 14:00

Enough of robbing my DC of their childhood.

Enough of pretending we/the health services/the government are winning absolute control over this.

Enough of pretending mental health matters less than physical health!

CallMeCleo · 17/02/2021 14:00

Enough of the police harassing, threatening and beating up people, and arresting and fining them ridiculous amounts for minor infringements of draconian new laws that were passed without proper discussion, debate or the assent of the population.

The last video I saw 15 officers surrounded a man in Oxford because he was sitting on a bench in the town centre, eating something he'd just bought at a shop that was legally allowed to sell it. Even as he walked off they followed him, just to intimidate him.

DameFanny · 17/02/2021 14:05

Got a link for that @CallMeCleo?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/02/2021 14:07

Enough of pretending we can "protect the NHS", or even that it's necessarily worth doing - we'd stand more chance of building a better system that hoping this broken beyond repair one can be made to work in today's world

Shehz21 · 17/02/2021 14:09

Enough of everyone re training into virologists, immunologists, scientists, doctors etc.
How will the economy cope when things start to open up if there is no one to go back to their jobs toGrin

Jokes aside, enough of gloom and doom
Things will get better soon, there is a light at the end of this tunnel. I know we have heard this time and again but I genuinely believe that if we have a little more patience, things are moving in the right direction and will keep doing so.. Smile

Enough of being locked up when only 118k have died

Enough of people thinking that "only" is appropriate when used in the context of 118,000+ deaths in the UK
Only ?!

HexWitch · 17/02/2021 14:17

@Jaxhog

Enough of people moaning about their social lives when others are dying during a Pandemic.
People die every day of many different things and we don't mourn them. Why is it different if they're dying of covid? Do no other deaths matter?

Enough of thinking covid is the only thing killing people.

Excited101 · 17/02/2021 14:18

Enough of my fucking job!

Darkbrownistheriver · 17/02/2021 14:20

@Listener2021

*ENOUGH of sacrificing the young for the old.

Two world wars should have taught us that*

You see, I never really understand this argument. Yes, I get that it’s awful for kids. I have a DD at uni myself who’s struggling with her mental health at the moment, but I just don’t think it’s in the same league as dying. She agrees.

I don’t really get your comment about the World Wars either - the young weren’t sacrificed for the old. They died for everyone, young and old. Yes, it was young men who fought (I don’t think over 40s were allowed to join up) presumably because they were likely to be stronger and fitter. Old men didn’t fight, although in WW2 presumably many had done so in WW1, and nor did women and children.

Hollanda40 · 17/02/2021 14:23

Enough of my and my kids mental health being battered
Enough of the endless doom and gloom monkeys
Enough of Boris Johnson aka the Hairbrushless Wonder
Enough of social distancing, masks etc
Enough of not being able to see my family
Enough of dreading another breakdown
Enough of it all

Rainbowsandstorms · 17/02/2021 14:24

Enough of people pushing to open up while our numbers are still to high.

Enough of people not realising that opening too soon will result in another wave and more mutations that can bypass vaccinations. Resulting in more lockdowns.

Enough of people not realising that if we take things slowly it gives us the best chance of this being our last lockdown and getting the normality back that we all want.

Enough of people thinking that the economy can be put before health and not realising that if we put health first we’d be in a better position and our economy would be better too.

Enough of no adequate protection for school children, staff and parents resulting in disrupted education.

Enough of our government’s horrendous handling of this.

Enough of home schooling and not being able to see family and friends.

ClaudiaWankleman · 17/02/2021 14:28

Enough of the patronising 'people don't realise that'.

What makes you cleverer than everyone else?

ddl1 · 17/02/2021 14:29

People die every day of many different things and we don't mourn them. Why is it different if they're dying of covid? Do no other deaths matter?

Of course they matter, but carrying on with your social life is in most cases not going to increase people's risk of dying of these other things. With Covid, it is. Actually during Covid, it may also increase the risk of dying of other things, if hospitals are overwhelmed, and/or if people with other conditions are too scared to go to hospital in case they get Covid on top of their other illness(es).

SugarfreeBlitz · 17/02/2021 14:29

Enough of making an effort with sanctimonious family members who treat me like a POS and make judgements on me without knowing the facts because they think they are better. I'm done
