Am I eligible for a vaccine

Tried to phone 119 for clarity but haven't been able to get through.

I currently care for a 90 year old lady. Although she is independent when it comes to washing/ dressing/ feeding herself, I cook her meals, wash her clothes, take her to appointments, and I'm in her house 9 hours a day just offering general support. I distance from her as much as possible.

Attached is the latest Government policy. I can't work out if I'm eligible for the vaccine or not.

her daughter showers her each week but as she's an informal carer she isn't eligible

If anyone can help clarify I would be really appreciative. I obviously don't want to take the vaccine from someone who needs it but the sooner I can put my lady at a lower risk the better!

Are you employed as her carer?

Unpaid carers haven't yet been called but anyone employed as a carer has been.

Hope this clarifies

Has your employer said to book a vaccine? They may be able to help you.

Has the lady you care for had a vaccine? My mum is my dad's (unpaid) carer and took him for his jab when he was called. She was offered it there because she's his carer to reduce the risk to him, so sounds like you'd be eligible.

Yes I am employed as her carer.

Its tricky as I was hired privately not through an agency etc. My employer is very much advocating that I get the vaccine which I am keen to do but would a letter from a private employer look fake?

Do you have proof of insurance? Proof of payments made to you for caring for said lady? Other clients? Things that all help to prove a paper trail?

She is the only person I care for.

I have proof of payments but they use nannytax to pay me and other staff so that might cause more confusion.

I'll take a copy of my contract. My boss is a lawyer so I know its water tight. Thanks everyone
