I feel so down lately but I really really need to lose weight. I know I do and I want to for our holiday in July.

But my god I’m comfort eating like there’s not tomorrow. It’s getting ridiculous 😩

I’m so bored and down that I’m eating for comfort. Help :(

Maybe try weight loss chat forum OP.
Fwiw, there are many who feel this way. Including me.

I have put on weight since January 2020 also. I know I need to eat less junk and start running for cardio. Just a matter of doing it HmmFlowers

Much of it is boredom induced for me too so I feel your pain.

Same here, I’ve done 2 lots of self isolation back to back in a flat with no garden and I think I averaged about 5000 calories a day 🤦‍♂️😂 I’m now only half a stone lower than the heaviest I’ve ever been. But I have no motivation because everything is so shit 😥😥

Maybe we should do couch to 5k. I've been meaning to do it ages.

I hear you, I put on quite a bit of weight in the first half of last year, managed to lose 1.5 stones between beg of July and end of Oct, cutting back on cakes/biscuits and swimming weekly. My DC’s school is down a steep hill so I did a morning power walk up it which was great.
Couldn’t go for a swim in Nov but still had the school run in Nov. We came out of Nov lockdown in Tier 3 (Kent) and didn’t want to go back to swimming due to the surge in infection rate.
Since Christmas I’ve been baking and eating loads of cake, I’m bored and it’s comfort eating but have now decided that after this week I’m not baking anymore (promised DD we’d make a choc cake for half term) until Easter/DP’s birthday.
We’ve been out for walks but it’s not the same (can’t run as dodgy knee) I’m climbing the walls for swimming pools to reopen - hopefully soon 🤞. This time of year is generally horrible and I do comfort eat a bit more (not as much as what I’m doing at the moment). Usually I start to feel motivated as spring arrives (except last year).

This happened to me, put on loads in lockdown 1 (although I did just have a baby for got an excuse haha) them lost 1.5 stone coming out of lockdown, then gained it all back when we went back in in November.

I'm just bored and comfort eating, and don't even care how I look, cos why should I, no-one sees me. There's no motivation there at all.

I'm also missing swimming and have put on weight. I'm trying to think it will pass and think long term but it's rubbish, also getting more back pain and swollen ankles. Never used to have any of this before lockdowns. I need to try and motivate myself to do more exercise at home and outside. Maybe if the weather improves...

I hear ya. I'm trying my damnedest!
I've literally sat at 230lb ish for the past month. I've lost 90lb and its just not budging.
I'm eating small portions, I'm eating mostly good food. Its just not going anywhere!
