Can muscle aches & pains be the only symptom?

I'm just wondering if anyone had tested positive positive with one set of symptoms! I'm menopausal and I'm used to my fair share of aches and pains, and I'm dealing with a hamstring injury in my right leg at the moment.

However..This past week I've been especially sore (leg pains a lot, joints stiff, skin feels 'sensitive) and knackered, light headed and feeling generally bleurgh - though no other classic symptoms like cough or sore throat. It could be viral or could be nothing in particular, but I'm debating whether to get tested (particularly because I don't want my partner taking anything viral into his workplace). I live rurally/Scotland and case numbers here aren't high but I do know a fair few folk who've tested positive lately (not that ive been in contact with them).

On the other hand I realise it's a bit daft to just assume 'I've caught covid' and use up a test.

Thanks in advance x

Test, there's lots of capacity at the moment and am sure I've heard of people only getting aches.

BrettAndersonscheekbones · 10/02/2021 22:57

My initial symptoms were the aches and pains (back/legs) and I tested positive. The other symptoms didn't kick in until a couple of days later. It was a lateral flow test provided by work that picked it up.

Aah ok, that's good to know. Thankyou both!

Basically any possible symptom you could think of could be Covid.

EllenRipley · 10/02/2021 23:57

@BrettAndersonscheekbones obviously I don't mean it was good that you tested positive - hope you're ok.

@Dongdingdong 🤔 sudden overgrowth of nasal or toe hair?

I see what you mean though.

Yes. Even no symptoms could be Covid Confused

Radio 4's Inside Health was focussed mainly on wider covid symptoms' an interesting listen.

A family I know all caught it very differently, the DD had a temperature, and vomiting and ended up dehydrated and in hospital with kidney damage, the bf had the typical cough and high temp, but very mild (only 20 though) and then the mum had just leg aches for 2 nights, but they were so painful she had to cover her legs in hot water bottles to be able to sleep. All are OK now though.

@Jenasaurus
That's so strange, isn't it.
My legs needed a hot water bottle and cocodamol last night 🥺
I've ordered a test just to be on the safe side...

Thankyou everyone 👍

I know I wish MN had a kind of automated "Yes. Get a test" second post to be added immediately the second anyone starts a thread with any of:

• Did anyone just have....?
• This couldn't be it, could it?
• I don't have any of the three main symptoms, but....?
• Help! I feel awful...

I’m pregnant and every day I have aches and pain, a stuffy nose, tiredness etc. How would I know if it was Covid or pregnancy?
