Vaccinated but still have to follow restrictions?

Why is this? Does it not work?

What's the point if it doesn't lift any restrictions?

I'm not anti vax

You are anti something it's been explained to death.

PurpleDaisies · 09/02/2021 15:14

Have you been ignoring all the news?

Seriously? How is this a question?

OpheliasCrayon · 09/02/2021 15:14

Because..... Because... Oh dear

DogsSausages · 09/02/2021 15:17

Its not instant. Its doesn't give you 100% protection. Its widely reported in every single news outlet.

AndreaMartelsCoat · 09/02/2021 15:18

A simple use of google will give you the answer.

Excuse me whilst I go and bang my head against a brick wall.

Muskox · 09/02/2021 15:20

The scientific reason is that we are not currently sure of whether it just protects the recipient or whether it also prevents transmission.

The social reason is that it would create a 2-tier society with some people (mainly the elderly) allowed to return to their normal lives while others are still living under restrictions. This would be a great way to make the latter group say 'oh fuck it' and start ignoring the rules and spreading the virus again.

XenoBitch · 09/02/2021 15:20

If being vaccinated meant no restrictions then we would have a two tier way of living. It wont work. Restrictions will be lifted when the pressure on the NHS is released.

PuzzledObserver · 09/02/2021 15:22

It won’t be for ever.

We need the vast majority of people vaccinated before vaccines can take over from social distancing measures in protecting us. Release them too quickly and it would all go to shit very quickly as well.

Until then, it’s important for social cohesion that the same rules apply to and are obeyed by everyone.

tonystarksrighthand · 09/02/2021 15:29

I don't watch the news

Thank you for the sensible answers

Why should the people we had to lockdown to protect basically then be able to go out and about, whilst the unvaccinated have to sit and wait for their turn. The rest of people would think fuck it.

RedskyBynight · 09/02/2021 15:36

So how are you aware of the latest lockdown? Why you even had to have a vaccine?
ginghamstarfish · 09/02/2021 15:37

Why not try watching or reading some news? FFS!

You've got to be on the wind up...

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/02/2021 16:06

Because you are not 100% protected.

TheSexFaceOfEddieRoxy · 09/02/2021 16:07

I can't work out if you are goady or thick

Someone living under a rock or is that a bridge.

JaneNorman · 09/02/2021 16:07

Jesus Christ. What grown adult doesn’t watch or read the news? Being informed about events of the world is a key part of being a fully functioning adult. And let’s face it, lots of teenagers would consider it pretty crucial to being educated about world events.

titchy · 09/02/2021 16:07

It won't work till they switch the network on. Then you can go out as you please although you have to stay within 2 miles of your house otherwise you get an electric shock.

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/02/2021 16:09

WaiterTheresAFly · 09/02/2021 17:53

Why would you voluntarily have a vaccination against something you don't k is about?

I don't understand how people can go through life without making sure they are informed about issues. Not voting, not partaking in how things are run. Its like going to a restaurant and asking someone else to order for you.

Britain could be trapped in coronavirus lockdown cycles for 'several years' as it's forced to wrestle with new variants that could scupper vaccines, top scientists have warned.
