My next door neighbour got a positive test result and text me and within 30 minutes I got pinged by the app to isolate for 10 days. I had not left the house in the 3 weeks previously even to go to the shops. I can only assume that as I had not seen my neighbour in person but we live in terraced houses with our sofas both near the shared wall this counts as contact!

Does this mean if you are stuck in a traffic jam for a length of time and the person in the car next to you subsequently tests positive you will get contacted?
Anybody in flats, semi's or terraces if your neighbour tests positive and your phones have been in the same vicinity you will be contacted?

It's really put me off having it turned on

And he had cheek coming up with some 96% figure for tracing contacts. Did he even blink or think about it?

Professor Van Tam (I think?) suggested that there was risk involved making travel plans. They don't know what restrictions in foreign countries may be like never mind with UK rules would allow it.
He said that UK holidays or household mixing being allowed couldn't be guaranteed this summer. Think exact words were "too early to say"

I was laughing the other day when it was revealed to great fanfare they are hitting their highest levels of tracing contacts... Erm, yes, because everywhere is shut and people are mostly at work or home!

Well they certainly are excellent at sending me both an email and text twice a week to tell me my lateral flow test is negative within moments of... me telling them it is negative.
