Return of smell after Covid

I am now 7 weeks past infection. About 3 weeks ago sense of smell started to turn after total loss, but it has not got any better than about 20 percent recovery. Anyone else had this? Anyone had it eventually come fully back? Bit alienating not being able to use it to smell burning on stove, though there are some distinct advantages!

I have had a return of my loss of smell 4 months following my covid and now I can’t smell weird things like poop at all- it smells
Sweet and weird. And sweet things smell horribly flowery and off...
I’m not sure if it’s a long covid thing... and I wish it would have reduced my appetite but sadly not.

About 6 weeks later, my taste and smell have mostly returned. All happened at once, until about 5.5 weeks, there was nothing at all

Mine went completely for 14 days when I had the virus, and then it seemed to return.

But that was nearly 3 months ago, and although I can smell fairly normally, I've noticed that my sense of taste is patchy - occasionally I'll be eating and suddenly realise I can't taste anything distinctly.

It's as though I can taste very very very sweet or very very salty, but everything in between is kind of muted. Sadly it hasn't put me off my food much.

It is a weird thing indeed. I have started to do smell training today to see if that encourages my damaged nerves! I get that thing about taste too. Done things just taste a bit weird, not horrid but just to the side of what they used to be.
