Vaccines moving apace since they are 66 and 67 and not CEV.

Great news! I'm hoping my mum gets invited soon 🤞🏼

Frazzled2207 · 07/02/2021 09:42

That’s good to hear. I think it very much depends where you are though. My parents had theirs on Friday they are 74. It’s a great relief when your parents have theirsSmile

daisydalrymple · 07/02/2021 09:48

Mum had her first on tues, age 75 non shielding.
My friend age 52 has been shielding since lockdown, she’s just had her first too.
I have no idea where this fits with the vaccine programme mind you!

SingANewSongChickenTikka · 07/02/2021 09:49

Great news. I’m group six and it’s so reassuring to see the vaccination programme rolling out as it is, feels like my turn isn’t a million miles away.

xyzandabc · 07/02/2021 09:50

My relatives 63 and 65 had theirs last week, no health conditions.

My relatives 63 and 65 had theirs last week, no health conditions.
But my mum 70 CEV isn't having hers until end of this week and my dad 72 hasn't been invited yet.

All depends on where you live but definitely positive that they are getting through the list at what seems like a fast pace to me.

RosieLemonade · 07/02/2021 10:43

My Mum is having her jab tomorrow. She is 61 and not CV. Our local area has been smashing it. I know more people who have been vaccinated than who have covid.

PigletJohn · 07/02/2021 11:36

over 65's are in the next batch, currently estimated for 14th-28th Feb

But it must surely vary from district to district

have a look at the estimator

MidSummersNightmare · 07/02/2021 11:38

My sister in law has just had hers in Kent. Group 6. Our area is still on group 4.

Tartyflette · 07/02/2021 11:42

My DB, 67, is having his tomorrow. Not CEV.
Great news, I hope all over 60s, then over 50s, get theirs done very soon.

Onestep2021 · 07/02/2021 11:43

@xyzandabc

Lots of people’s invitation letters have been delayed in the post.

Has your dad tried the link posted before on MN?
www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

If you are eligible and meant to be invited, then it puts you straight through to book your slot. Lots of people I know over 70 used it and got themselves booked for the next day

StarcourtMall · 07/02/2021 11:54

My parents (72 and 74) have still heard nothing and are refusing to use the NHS link. Their friend in Kent was offered an appointment in West Sussex but couldn’t travel there (don’t drive) so are still waiting - I guess on the government statistics they have been “offered” though.
I wish they would sort out these black holes where vaccines are behind!

CarlaH · 07/02/2021 12:06

Just tried for my partner (67) but booted out.

Thanks One-step but that's only for England. They are in Scotland. I'm sure he'll be invited when it's his turn.

worriedpleasereassureme · 07/02/2021 12:42

They are doing 55-60 in my area!

Onestep2021 · 07/02/2021 12:43

I hadn’t thought about it not working outside of UK.
My parents told me they received tye letter inviting them to book their slot yesterday. It was dated from 9th Jan.
@CarlaH if the system doesn’t let you book it’s meant to indicate that your area hasn’t moved on to that cohort yet.
So it’s worth just trying every few days.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 07/02/2021 12:51

My area had loads of availability and the letters for under 75s hadn’t yet arrived by Friday. The local BBC news put out an appeal for over 70s to fill the slots using the website. Maybe tell your parents about that. My dads letter arrived while he was out getting it done so hopefully they are in their way.

Starlive23 · 07/02/2021 14:03

Great news, its relieving to finally see isn't it!

Where in the country do you live? My husband is in that age group, but nothing as yet.
bathsh3ba · 07/02/2021 14:11

My parents are in Gloucestershire if that helps

69 and had mine last Wednesday in Derby. I had a text from my doctor's surgery giving the link for Swiftqueue to book.

We are Bath/Bristol area.
Longdistance · 07/02/2021 14:25

My in-laws are in the NE. Mil’s dh has already had both (80 +) and mil just had her first last week (early 70’s) my dm who is late 70’s and CEV has only had hers last week SE just outside London. I do think it’s area dependent, but busier areas with a higher population must be taking longer.
11 plus million vaccinated is amazing 🎉
