Forgot it was Monday Grin

I think Hancock is in my head. I have been really fed up with lockdown lately and checked today and there are 16 cases in my area. I was thinking 'what's the worst that could happen if I did some 'unneccessary travel' with cases so low? Then Hancock says 'don't even think about bending the rules' Grin

That told me Sad

Hancock: "If you live in one of the affected postcodes it is imperative you stay at home and get a test even if you don’t have symptoms".

Woking Borough Council website: "Residents in the affected area do not need to self-isolate unless they have symptoms, have tested positive and/or been in contact with someone who has tested positive and been contacted by Test and Trace."

So are those contradicting each other? Stay at home if in one of the affected postcode areas but the local council is saying that you don't have to isolate. So people can still go to work if they cannot work from home.

What does Hancock mean by stay at home?

I think I would go off what Matt Hancock says rather than the Council website. I didn't catch all he said but I think he said that they are testing door to door in the postcodes with cases of SA variant. And earlier on Sky said they were posting out tests to people in those areas too.

Well some people who live in those postcode areas are having to go into work even if they can work just as well working from home and did so throughout the first lockdown. One of them is my DH 😡

I wondered the same about people sending their children to nursery

I think he just means stay at home in terms of following the current guidance, which is stay at home (unless you have a valid reason not to). So I don't think they do contradict each other, no.
