Covid in early pregnancy

I tested positive a few days back and am currently 6.5 weeks pregnant. I feel horrendous but it’s hard to tell where covid symptoms end and pregnancy symptoms start.

I’ve also had some light spotting so now worried about miscarriage 😞

I'm sorry you feel ill. If it helps any I had suspected Covid in March (gp strongly suspected Covid and signed me off sick). I now have a very robust and healthy 8 week old lying on my chest.
If you have a fever be sure to take paracetamol to keep it under control.

I have no experience with covid and pregnancy as I've finished my family, but spotting at 6.5 weeks is super super super normal. Implantation bleeds or just regular early pregnancy bleeds - to be honest in my third pregnancy I had blood Literally pouring onto the bathroom floor at 9 weeks and it was still absolutely fine!!!

Now I don't know if you're covid positive how that works with a Early Pregnancy Unit checking you over but to be honest some EPUs wouldn't see you so early anyway so I wouldn't be unduly worried that you were being missed because you're positive, however if you're at all worried give the maternity / EPU at your hospital a call and they can at least advise you over the phone.

It's always better to ask a midwife - I know that a lot of us on mn will have had multiple pregnancies And can share our experiences with you but I always find it best to also call your hospital for proper advice as well.
