Press conference today - probably in light of the news that the earliest schools will begin to re-open 8th March.

Boris will lead.

There is little point in the press conferences which follow the PM announcing stuff in Parliament. Nothing new from the earlier statement and simply more head up BoJo's bum from Laura K.

SophieB100 · 27/01/2021 14:36

The good news is that Jonathan Van Tam will be with him, and Patrick Vallance.
I love JVT

@SophieB100 - I'm terrified of JVT!

SophieB100 · 27/01/2021 15:19

Noooo! @Spodge
How? Why?
He's lovely!

I can’t stand JVT.

Changeismyname · 27/01/2021 15:20

Can we have a sweepstake on how many times Boris refers to Jonathan Van Tam as JVT rather than by his full name? It really annoys me. Imagine if someone referred to Boris as BJ (jokes aside) in a public press conference like that!

Monkeytennis97 · 27/01/2021 15:21

I can't stand Dr Jennie 'they don't share things from their lunchbox and they all face forwards' Harries.

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/01/2021 15:21

Some of the cabinet refer to him as PM. Which is equally awful.

Chickenqueen · 27/01/2021 15:38

Aw I love Jonathan Van Tam and his analogies!

Spodge · 27/01/2021 15:48

@SophieB100 - I like his style in many ways, don't get me wrong, and feel he tells it like it is. But right at the beginning of this, back last March, he was all I ever saw on the TV, being really strict and fierce. We were away from home at the time visiting a relative and I was terrified we'd get stuck there. I honestly thought he'd lock us all up and throw away the key, given half a chance. Without wishing to sound short-ist I did get a lot less scared of him when the cameras at a press briefing weren't angled normally and I saw he has to have a podium to reach his lectern. Now I think of him more as a cross bulldog.

SophieB100 · 27/01/2021 15:57

I get it @Spodge, but I really like his measured way of explaining things, and find him reassuring.

@Monkeytennis97
Jenny Harries should have been in my school yesterday - first child takes a bite out of his sandwich - "yuk tuna again" and dumps it in his lunchbox. Second child grabs it and wolfs it down, before the TA runs across the room and gets a chance to intervene.
That's reality in the classroom, right there Ms Head in the Clouds Harries!

My ds came home from school one day and told me he had shared his drink with his friend as his friends had leaked 🤦‍♀️

@3littlewords
Bless! They will, they're kids.
