Surveillance of +ve test results or COVID infections in people who have had 1 or 2 jabs

I've seen several people ask if there's any surveillance of the number of people who develop COVID after they've had part 1 or 2 of their vaccination. There is a surveillance scheme to which it should be reported:

The following cases should be reported:

Individuals with a SARS-CoV-2 PCR positive sample with symptom onset date at least 10 days after their first dose of vaccine (this includes any cases who develop symptoms after a second dose of vaccine).

If the case was asymptomatic, test date should be used in place of symptom onset date.

Vaccinated individuals who test positive using a lateral flow device should be confirmed using PCR.

When I booked a PCR two or three weeks ago I was asked if I'd had a vaccine. At that point I hadn't, so don't know what further questions about dose number and date might have come up if I'd said yes.

ZOE is also now collecting this information.

The NHS trust I work for is also collating information about vaccines in staff, all lateral flow results, and PCR results. I'd be astonished if that isn't replicated country-wide.

So I think efforts are being made to collect this data. It will be interesting to see the results.
