Dp bellowing I need to 'get it out" ie the phlegm but there isn't any really it's just really really hot an painful. I coughed in the night and it was agonising.
Tell me what I should take how i should sit to ease the pain if you have any experience of this thank you x

Poor you. If you have just started you're right, nothing to expectorate just now. Things I found helped were hot drinks, steam inhalation and paracetamol. And rest of course. Keep an eye on your breathing and blood o2 (do you have a pulse oximeter - if not, consider buying one).

Not sure if any of this is relevant but the NHS has a page on treating covid at home www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/how-to-treat-symptoms-at-home/

Don't lie on your back. Breathe in through your nose and out from your mouth. Steam inhalation. Paracetamol. Plenty of fluids eg tea, room temp water.
Hopefully you get well soon

I may be wrong but I read lying on your tummy is good... I think that’s how they are getting patients to lie in hospital.

Sorry you feel poorly, hopefully this is the worst of it and you’ll feel better ASAP.
