Can you take someone with you to get the vaccine?

I get panicky and anxious when thinking about going for the vaccine. I don’t know why, I’ve been looking forward to all this being over! Have had some really bad non-covid-related news recently and it seems to have triggered anxiety.

I passed our local vaccine hub today and it just sent me into a spiral. Tight chest, hard to breathe, felt tearful and scared. Legs felt wobbly. Couldn’t wait to get away. Like a fight or flight reaction. I don’t think I could’ve gone in and had a jab even if I was offered one. How do I get past this? Dan the gp prescribe something? If I could take someone with me that might help but might not be allowed??

I was allowed in with my DM. She's obviously frail, but mental health conditions are also an illness Thanks
