Vaccine Passports and Summer Holidays

I apologise if there are already threads on this - I couldn't find them.

I have a summer holiday booked to France in August. It was postponed from last year.

Do you think we will only be able to go if we have not had the vaccine?

Unlikely to get the vaccine until the autumn.

I think you stand more chance of going if you have had the vaccine than not having it, but hopefully we are on track to get vulnerable groups vaccinated well before August.

People went away last year without the vaccine, and everybody (particularly the EU which is not being fast about its vaccine rollout) will know that a lot of people haven't had it.

I wouldn't book anything now which can't be cancelled with full refund, but I think things will start to ease up a bit after Easter whether or not younger groups are vaccinated.

I doubt it. You will need a PCR test to show you are clear. The vaccine does not prevent the virus but minimise the symptoms. Therefore, you can still have the virus and spread it.

It's likely you will need a PCR, not the vaccine, especially to travel to France where a lot of people are refusing to have it
