DH big birthday end of March... Do I attempt to plan something?

By something, I mean book a meal or something with his family or do I go with my gut feeling that we'll be in lockdown still?
I've found something that I can have set up at home just for us, but it's a lot of money if we end up paying out for an actual outing too.
I'm right, aren't I? Even if some restrictions lift, it won't be enough to make a big deal over his birthday, never mind if we actually should?

Yep, you're right.

In the same quandary! What are you planning to set up from home can I ask?

Thefeep · 14/01/2021 22:14

My DH has the big 50 in February, i think we’ll just do something big next year together when it’s mine. I Like to be optimistic but not sure on restaurants.

Dontbetardy · 14/01/2021 22:15

Do you mind me asking what you’ve found? My 50th in March too. Looking for good ideas to spend the day inside - again.

Thorilicious · 14/01/2021 22:15

@chocolatebuttonsarethebest I've found a company that will set up a bell tent in the garden, bedding fairylights, heating etc. It's £175, but it's his 40th so want to do something different. Thinking a nice takeaway and some wine. The kids will love sleeping in a tent. I may also but a projector, so we can watch a film too.

Sounds lovely. Are you a housewife of Cheshire fan by chance?!!

I live roadside so that wouldn’t work for me but it does sound different and if it’s what I saw on the RHOC, I don’t think the price sounds bad either.

MajesticWhine · 14/01/2021 22:16

Lovely idea

TokyoSushi · 14/01/2021 22:18

Sounds lovely, I'm still waiting to celebrate my big birthday which was at the end of LAST March! One day...

Thorilicious · 14/01/2021 22:19

I'm so pleased people think it's a good idea! He's hard to buy for, but we do enjoying camping, we can just do it in style!

Do the tent! That sounds a great idea.

Thorilicious · 14/01/2021 22:20

@Dontbetardy no, not a fan, but I may need to check it out!

I'm searching for info now. Yours comes with heating?

Thorilicious · 14/01/2021 22:31

It did. Whereabouts are you? I'm Essex, happy to pm you the details?
