Have anyone’s children tested positive after a brief temperature spike?

Last night at bedtime 8 year old DS suddenly went all shivery, his temperature went up to 37.8 and he thought he was going to be sick. He wasn’t actually sick, his temp went back down after an hour or so and he eventually settled off to sleep and woke up a bit pale this morning but otherwise fine. I got him tested this morning as he had a temp, so we’re obviously waiting for results. Interested to see if anyone else’s children have tested positive with similar (fleeting!) symptoms?!

My friends little girl did exactly this. One brief temp spike was the only symptom and she tested positive.

All I had was a two hour slightly raised temperature. 4 days later I lost my taste and smell, no cough, no breathing issues and I'm middle aged and overweight

Yes a friends DD felt slightly sick so they took her temp, which was raised. It just so happened to be in the day they were doing and sending back their community tests anyway.
The Dd was fine after a couple of hours.
Test came back positive
No other symptoms.
If she hadn’t mentioned she felt a bit sick they wouldn’t have ever known and they didn’t notice she had a temp- only took it because of covid
You’ve done the right thing in testing.

A friend's son did this. They nearly didn't test as temp had gone totally when they got to the centre but did and were surprised he was positive. No other family member had symptoms

Wow! Lucky children, let's hope they are building up a great immune response to this.

Yes this is all my son had, a temperature that came and went. 24 hours later completely well.

That’s really interesting. He felt a bit funny again this evening, so glad I got him tested. Will update when the result comes through!
